Replacement
Terminating or altering an existing policy in connection with buying a new one, triggering disclosure rules.
Replacement transactions require specific producer and insurer disclosures (and often a comparison statement) so the consumer understands the costs of surrendering existing coverage. Improper replacement is a prohibited practice known as twisting or churning.
