Elimination Period

A waiting period after a disability or claim begins before benefits start to be paid.

Common in disability income and long-term-care policies, the elimination period is a time deductible (such as 30, 60, or 90 days) the insured must satisfy before benefits begin. A longer period lowers the premium.

This is one of hundreds of tested concepts.

Lhexam drills elimination period and the rest of the health material in your state's exam format, with an AI tutor on every wrong answer.
