PPO (Preferred Provider Organization)
A managed-care plan offering lower costs in-network and partial coverage out-of-network.
PPOs give members flexibility to see any provider without a referral, paying less when using preferred (in-network) providers. Premiums are usually higher than HMOs in exchange for broader choice.
